My Uncle’s profession?
Well, he told fortunes, and he stole horses. Often, he would tell a man that his horse would be stolen, and they would marvel at his powers when it was.
This quote from “Peaky blinders” ain’t getting old any time soon.
Watch this show if you haven’t already.
In case you didn’t noticed I just presented a promotion before you. (Producer didn’t pay me though)

Now smart ones must’ve already predicted that.
Those who didn’t- What was the promotion in this post?
“Watch the TV show Peaky blinders”
I can bet on my original passport that 98% of you people don’t like these promotion as well as advertisement.
Well uhh most of you.
Just to be clear there is a hell lot of difference between a promotion and an advertisement.
Advertising is a one-way communication whose purpose is to inform potential customers about products and services and how to obtain them. Promotion involves disseminating information about a product, product line, brand, or company. It is one of the four key aspects of the marketing mix. Advertising may be one forms of promotion.
Promotions that are run with a time limit create a sense of urgency. Humans are driven to seek out pleasure and to avoid pain. The pain associated with missing out on a special promotion will drive us to snap up the offer. We don’t want to miss out. To encourage this impulse, retailers use signs to indicate that stock is running low or time is running out.

Talking about TV shows precisely–
We seldom buy things that we have not seen or tested in some capacity, which is why trailers are absolutely essential to marketing films & TV shows.
For content to spread at a compound rate i.e. ‘go viral’, it must push the audience to experience an emotional extreme. This can be through humor, fear, sadness, enlightenment, anger, lust, or any other strong emotional trigger.
Putting the need of something creatively whether useful or useless will definitely gain the attention. Proven fact!!
You can put humorous statements too. (Make sure it isn’t negative- The Conception of the negative “humor”)
Puns are also effective. See below some of’em.
An unfortunate pun::
“I went to a seafood disco last week…and pulled a mussel.”
A pun that’s almost worth using:
“I wasn’t originally going to get a brain transplant, but then I changed my mind.”
Here’s a pun that could be worth using:
“I put all my spare cash into an origami business. It folded.
See through your mind and you’ll find that “you promote and you live”

Ever promoted something? How was your experience?
If you enjoyed this post then do share your thoughts.
If you didn’t then go through again!!
Ok, this was an interetsing post. I’m not sure I’ve ever promoted anything. I have suggested movies and songs, does that count as promotion?

The suggestion comes within our personal thought which we tell to someone who is confused(most of it).
Whereas, promotion is something which we do without judging the product(album, series, cloth, toys, etc.). We also get paid to do promotion of certain products.
So, the difference is quite big.
BTW, thanks for passing by!!

Yup, gonna agree with that.
But, some other fields like trading/stocks, new app startups, etc. which agree to hire us as a promotor even if our reach is 1k/day. We just gotta find them on the Internet.
Glad you enjoyed the post @vaniheart.

Thanks, Lokesh. I tried to show that how every single thing is being promoted both by AI, humans & humor. Our attention is what they seek.
I would’ve loved to join you but, I’ve my final year exams upcoming and I’m already working towards my startup with my fellow colleagues.
I barely have time to post my own blogs.
BTW, thanks for considering me. I’ll let you know if I get some free time.

Your sense of humor is too good!
I’ve promoted once. An author’s sister mailed me to promote his book on my site. She provided my an e-book. But I read the book first bcoz I didn’t want to give any false information to my readers as well for the sake of promotion. When I was fully satisfied, I said her yes!
That’s the only promotion I’d done.

Thank you Jahnvi, so glad that you find this post interesting.
Yes, promotion can work like this too.
As an individual, I’m highly impressed that you went through that e-book before posting its review on your blog.

Unfortunately when it comes to civic responsibilities like paying taxes, passing security lines..jury duty…the government does not do a very good job promoting their services. When you read something official, you just do feel compelled to do it.

Ha, true that.
Sometimes, you’ll have to do those avoidable things which are labeled with the gov. tag.
Thanks for your views Mr. usfman.
Have a good day ahead.

I notice in my email travel promotions in particular that the element of truth may not pertain here when emotions prevail.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Emotions are so important in every craft. Even in writing, evoking the feelings of the reader is a must. Individuals often follow their hearts more than their minds. Promotions also tap into this aspect. If it looks and feels good, then why not?
Great post as always, Tanishq.🙂

True that.
However, I always choose the opposite of whatever they’re marketing about.

Well said, Terveen.
I suppose promotions are the part of how our emotional aspect work.
Promotion includes not only the products but faith too.
Thanks for your appreciation.

Yeah, it is. Took some time to come up with something like that.
Promotion seeks for a part of ourselves. People often see us with the eyes of what we’ve promoted.
Thanks for your appreciation.
